Award for design

Synfiber has designed and produced X-Fit for the world's largest chainsaw manufacturer, Stihl. For this innovative chainsaw protective clothing Synfiber and Stihl was presented with the Award for Design Excellence 2010.

Four designers were also nominated for the prestigious “Honours Award for Design Excellence 2010” – Synfiber among these four! Read the jury's verdict (external link).

This is Norway’s largest design related event aimed at the business and design community.

Synfiber and the world’s best selling chainsaw brand, Stihl, have cooperated for years on protective clothing for forestry workers. With the strong professional design environment and broad technical skills, Synfiber decided to develop a new ”high end” protective clothing line for Stihl that was superior to the competitors.

The protective suit had to be more eye-catching, even more technical and yet still be the most comfortable to work in on the market. The new protective suit had to be as lightweight as possible and completely comfortable, allow full freedom of movement and have an unmistakable Stihl design. Further on it should also have an extreme fit, hence the name – X-FIT.
